The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago's water treatment plant In Stickney owns three SW1 locomotives and one MP15 locomotive. After a three year long absence of the MP15 due to a minor derailment back in summer 2020, It has returned, and back to bringing cuts back and forth between the loader to the dumping fields in McCook. Over the last three years the 71 year old SW1’s have been used while the one MP15 was out, making it one of my favorite railroad operations around Chicagoland the last three years. Now that #4 returned, the SW1’s are used when needed, just like before the derailment three years ago. Here we see MVPX #4 taking a cut of 13 loads out of the loader in Stickney, beginning to bring them to the dumping fields in McCook for dumping.
