Rails Over River. On the morning of Sunday, June 11, 2023, NJ TRANSIT NJTR 4112 (GP40PH-2), 4203 (GP40PH-2B) and 4302 (GP40) led a train of Continuously Welded Rail (CWR) as it crossed River Draw of Raritan Bay from South Amboy to Perth Amboy, New Jersey on the North Jersey Coast Line. The train then dropped "ribbons" of rail that will be used for the new span, being constructed to the geographic west of the current bridge. As part of the overall project, the Perth Amboy Station, which was constructed in 1928, is having high-level platforms added to upgrade it to meet current ADA standards.
