Remarks & Notes
About half way of the cogwheel section, the only railcar BDeh 1/2 # 1 "Liseli" of the Bergbahn Rheineck-Walzenhausen is running down as train 6146 of the line S26, with the Bodensee (Lake Constance) and the houses of Gaissau in Austria in the background. You can see the entrance of the 315 meter long Schutz tunnel. The 1,2 meter gauge cogwheel railway with Riggenbach/von Roll system is part of the Appenzeller Bahnen since 2006 and will be rebuilt in 2026 to a fully automatic system with no driver, and a new car from StadlerRail. This car dates from 1958 when the railway was rebuilt from a funicular, and was built by SLM, FFA and BBC.
