Swallowed Up By The Cliffs. On Tuesday August 3, 2021, Webb Rail's former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built Pullman dome/slpr 313 (WEBX 801044) former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built dome/coach 549 (WEBX 801045) held the markers on Amtrak Train 28 (Empire Builder) in Lyle, Washington as the train traveled parallel to the Lewis and Clark Highway and the Columbia River, seen entering a deceptively small tunnel in between Lyle and Smithville. This area of the route of the "Builder" includes a number of bridges, tunnels and other scenery. The cars made a quick turn with the consist in Portland, Oregon, having arrived on Train 27 only a few hours prior.
