Bridges From The High Bridge. An unusual move occurred on the morning of Wednesday, June 28, 2023, when a pair of "YN2/Bright Future" AC44CWs, CSXT 487 and 482, brought CSX M701-27 south/east in daylight through the High Bridge section of the Bronx, New York. This was the second of 2 freight trains to move through this area in only a few hours as another south/eastbound train had just cleared the area while normally there are no CSX moves at all here in daylight. The MTA Metro-North Railroad Hudson Line here is running next to Interstate 87 (Major Deegan Expressway) and under Interstate 95 (Cross Bronx Expressway) on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge. In the further background is West 181 Street on the "Little" Washington Bridge. The High Bridge opened in 1848, but was closed from 1970-2015. After a major rehabilitation, it re-opened to pedestrians June 9, 2015, making this view possible again for a new generation.
