Remarks & Notes |
The test locomotive DE 2500 202 003-0, which was built by Henschel-BBC in 1973, is located in the locomotive shed of the Deutsches Technik Museum in Berlin. The diesel-electric locomotive with the different faces (one side streamlined) was used until the 1980s for testing three phase asynchronous electric traction with 2-axle drive bogies and high-speed tests up to 160 mph. It even reached a speed of nearly 200 mph on a roller dynamometer built by BBC. |
