Remarks & Notes
Beach Bound! New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R1 car no. 381 (ACF, 1930-1931) is the lead motor on a six-car train of R1-9 "Arnines" seen approaching Bay 50th St Station on the BMT West End Line, with the Lower Manhattan skyline looming large in the background. The train was operating a bonus ride as part of the NY Transit Museum's "Beach Bound - Coney Island" nostalgia ride on July 8, 2023, which was sold-out with New Yorkers, out-of-towners, and even a Hungarian or two in attendance on the train!
