A pair of San Francisco Municipal Railway's fleet of old PCC cars layover at the halfway point as they turn on the loop on Jones Street near the western end of Fisherman’s Wharf. MUNI car 1059, painted to replicate the Boston (MA) Elevated Railway, is the former Southeast Philadelphia Transit Agency 2099, originally Philadelphia Transportation Company 2099 (built in 1948). Waiting behind it is MUNI car 1053, painted in New York City Board of Transportation livery (originally the streetcars were operated by Brooklyn & Queens Transit, which became part of the BofT, later the NYCTA, and now MTA NYC Transit), is the former SEPTA 2721, originally PTC 2721 (built in 1947). (San Francisco, California – June 17, 2023). Thanks to Nick DiBari for filling in more detail on 1053, the PCC painted in New York City colors!
