Sunset On The Manasquan. On the evening of Thursday, July 6, 2023, NJ Transit GP40PH-2 4109 (née CNJ 3677, EMD, 10/1968) passed over the Manasquan River to Brielle, New Jersey at about 10 minute after sunset, leaving the tracing of its headlights on the water. This heritage unit visiting its home rails became a reality for a week as the veteran EMD led a number of shuttle trains between Long Branch, NJ and Bay Head, NJ on the NJCL under the enhanced summer schedule.
Photos from across RP of NJ Transit’s 40th Anniversary specially painted & wrapped units.
Also included are the fully wrapped Veterans & Pride tribute units.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
