Trash Back On The Rails. At approximately 8:30 PM on July 19, 2013, CSX Train Q704-19 derailed 10 of the 20 spine cars of refuse on the MTA Metro-North Railroad Hudson Line at MP 9.99 on Track 2 while going through the rock cut next to the Harlem River between Marble Hill and Spuyten Duyvil. On the morning of Wednesday, July 19, 2013, in a unique event, Metro-North "Extra 101" with MNCW 101 GP35R 101 (ex-RDG 3641, EMD, 8/1964) and MCNW 401 (BL14CG, Brookville, 10/2008) and seen removing some of the now re-railed to be returned to CSX and the Oak Point Yard. This incident would disrupt service for both passenger and freight, as well as affect changes significant to Metro-North's track maintenance programs.
