The Chemin de fer Bex-Villars-Bretaye (BVB), part of tpc (Transports Publics du Chablais) since 1999, celebrates its 125th birthday this year. The origin is the Chemin de fer Bex-Gryon-Villars-Chesières, whose first section from Bex to Bévieux was opened in 1897. To celebrate the anniversary, the "Flèche" rack-and-pinion railcar BDeh 2/4 # 25 will run every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday during the summer from Villars to the Col-de-Bretaye and back as an additional train. The BVB purchased six of these elegant railcars with the numbers # 21 to # 26 from SLM and MFO between 1940 and 1946. Car # 25 was restored to its former livery and markings and is shown here pushing freight car Om # 727 on its way to the Col-de-Bretaye mountain station above Col-de-Soud.
