| Approximately at the VA/WV state line an SD50 is at the end of a string of power shoving on the rear of a large coal train. Interesting N&W had switched to short hood forward not long before the merger, the later SD40-2s & SD50Ss were set up this way. Apparently bowing to some ex-SOU suggestion they went back to long hood forward. One wonders at the total cost of all the long hood forward thing over the years. Photo by Jim Satterwhite. |
