Rainbow colors of early WC The first days of Wisconsin Central where a scramble of getting trains over the railroad and enough power to do so. On November 7, 1987, almost a month after startup, WC combined train 2/20 heads south through Duplainville, Wisconsin. Early WC locomotive consists were colorful too—this freight is all-EMD powered by former Soo Line GP30 No. 708 leading a pair of leased Conrail GP35s, a Soo Line GP9, a WC SD45 still in former Burlington Northern green and a former Milwaukee Road GP20.
