A pair of EMD F-units, belonging to Pioneer Railroad Equipment Company, sit in the engine facility in Gettysburg PA. PREX F7A 402 was built in December 1949, and is the former Keokuk Junction Railway 406, ex-St Louis & Chain of Rocks (SLCR) 406, ex-Chicago & North Western 406, originally CNW 4086A. Coupled to the 402 is PREX FP9 1755, built by EMD’s Canadian subsidiary GMD in May 1957, formerly Wisconsin Central 1755, Algoma Central 1755, VIA Rail 6531, and originally Canadian National 6531. In August 2023, Pioneer Railcorp sold 402, along with 401, to Dieselmotive Company, Inc. (also known as Bruggere & Monson [BUGX]), with the two F-units being shipped from the Gettysburg & Northern to a shortline railroad in Oklahoma. (Gettysburg, Pennsylvania – September 27, 2013)
