A hot Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway piggyback train, BNSF 9-896-24, passes through the station of May as it heads east out of Los Angeles behind ATSF SD40-2 5084, which has not yet been renumbered to BNSF 6743. At this date, the new railroad was just one year old, and many changes (renumbering, new paint, new train symbols, etc.) had yet to be implemented. (Riverside, California – August 24, 1996)
