Remarks & Notes

As a huge coal train is entirely over the top of the grade its large helper set is still attached, which is somewhat unusual. Looks like the conductor is stepping down with his grip. As the coal train is being yarded, I would guess the helpers would back the cab into the cab track then head in for servicing. Photo by Jim Satterwhite, from my collection.
