Bi-Annual Appearance. On the morning of May 7, 2023, former Hawaii Railway #5 (2-4-2, Baldwin, 1925) is brought out of its storage building to be prepared for the day's operations. The Connecticut Antique Machinery Association (CAMA) held its annual Spring Power-Up event in Kent, Connecticut in May, 2023, and with the Fall Festival coming up this week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 22-24, 2023, it's a good time to revisit that day. On May 7, 2023, former Hawaii Railway #5 (2-4-2, Baldwin, 1925) was brought out of its usual storage location for the semi-annual operation. During the preparation of the locomotive for the day’s run, the 1922 Plymouth made run on the line. While the Valley Railroad is perhaps more well known, CAMA is closing in on 2 decades of consistent though infrequent operation, so check your calendars in advance. While the focus of this album is on the railroad, the events are well attended by all manner of steam operated devices and machinery.
