There is often a wide variety of other railroads' power in the Belt Railway of Chicago's Clearing Yard. On this day, there was power from Chicago & North Western, Cotton Belt, Denver & Rio Grande Western, GATX Corporation (leaser), Helm Financial Corporation (leaser), Soo Line, Southern Pacific, Union Pacific and, as seen here, I&M Rail Link. IMRL SD45 353 was built as Burlington Northern 6497, and it was later sold to National Helm Leasing as NHL 6497, and later still to Montana Rail Link (MRL 353), which eventually moved it to subsidiary IMRL. Coupled to it is IMRL SD40 223 (ex-MRL 223, ex-Capital Leasing 3004, ex-CNW 927, née-Chicago Great Western 407). (Bedford Park, Illinois – September 19, 1997).
