Cogwheel train of the La Rhune railway in the french Pyrenees with locomotive He 2/2 # 5 and cars # 10 and # 9 running down the mountain at 8 km/h below the summit, with the gulf of Biscaya and Saint-Jean-de-Luz in the background. The vehicles date from 1914, the line was openend in 1924 only. Last year, the complete 1-meter-gauge track with ballast, rails and Strub rack rail was built new by Sersa and Tensol Rail from Switzerland. There are 4 trains in operation, circulating every 40 minutes, the journey time is 35 minutes. The cars # 9 and # 10 of this train were built new in 1996 according to the old plans, on old frames bought from the Luchon-Superbagnères railway.
