Excursion Day! The NJ Transit and United Railroad Historical Society of NJ was on its way toward New York Penn Station when it crossed Portal Bridge in Kearny, New Jersey early on the morning of Saturday, September 30, 2023. Bombardier built ALP-46As NJTR 4640 (40th Anniversary, "Disco") and NJTR 4636 (Pennsylvania Railroad Heritage) hold the markers on the way in, but will lead towards South Amboy later, where an the first engine change since 1988 will have NJTR F40-2CATs 4119 and 4120 completing the trip to Bayhead, New Jersey.
