Back in 1983, Mr. John M. Gould purchased a couple of my limited edition lithograph prints of my railroad paintings. This started up a friendship in which we traded slides and photographs for years. Since I lived in the southwest, I sent him slides of Amtrak, UP, SP and Santa Fe trains, and he sent me slides of trains he saw in the NY and New England area. Here is Amtrak 489 in New York. Photograph taken by John M. Gould, John R. Doughty, Jr. collection.
