Montana Daylight For several years, Montana Rail Link operated a passenger train on portions of its scenic routes called the “Montana Rockies Daylight,” commonly called “Montana Daylight,” operated by Montana Rockies Rail Tours. In this view, the eastbound train passes the mile 23.5 semaphore west of Eddy, Montana, on September 10, 1999. The lead locomotive is unique EMD GP19-1 No. 151 rebuilt by MRL from a former Northern Pacific GP9. This one-of-a-kind locomotive was involved in a switching accident and scrapped in 2008. The passenger train itself didn’t fare much better, discontinued after the 2004 season.
