Hustling eastbound across the Mojave Desert is BNSF Railway train S-LHGLPC1-12, heading from Los Angeles Harbor CA (GGS) to Logistics Park Chicago IL. A quartet of GE diesels, BNSF Dash 9-44CW 4099, ES44DC 7824, ES44C4 7947 and Dash 9-44CW 4387, coupled "elephant style," are easily handling this "Intermodal Stacks" train (hence the train's "S" symbol). It is only 17:35 (5:35 pm), but on these short February days, it has already gotten very dark. And the desert can get very dark! (Cadiz, California – February 13, 2017)
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
