Electric shunting locomotive Te 2/3 # 31 of the Verein Historische Eisenbahn Emmental (VHE) in Huttwil, on a cab ride trip in the station on the occasion of the Huttwil steam days. The small locomotive is called "Halbesel" (half donkey) and was built in 1925 as part of a railcar CFe 2/6 # 784 and 785, which were separated into a three-axle car part and a two-coupled motor part with running axle. The so-called "half donkeys" ran until 1956, after which the car part was scrapped. The engine section, on the other hand, was deemed to still be serviceable. Using modern welding technology, BLS added a new driver's cab with large windows, thus creating an asymmetrical shunting tractor. In 1980 both shunting tractors were to be scrapped, the # 31 was bought by a club and restored to its 1956 condition.
