Sitting in New York & Atlantic's Fresh Pond Yard in Queens are Waste Management (USWX) Mother/Slug set. USWX 400 and USWX 010 were built by Knoxville Locomotive Works and purchased by Waste Management for use by NYA's yard jobs which have the primary task of serving two of Waste Management's transload locations in New York City (Varrick Avenue in Bushwick and Review Avenue in Long Island City).
The "mother" unit, USWX 400, is a KLW SE23B-M Tier 4 locomotive built from HATX GP40 415, ex-CSX Transportation 6510, originally Baltimore & Ohio GP40 3694 (built 11/66). The "slug" unit, USWX 010, is an SE23B-S, built from UPY slug 923, ex-UP slug S-29, ex-Missouri Pacific slug 1420, ex-MP SW9 1217, ex-St. Louis, Brownsville and Mexico Railway SW9 1253, originally built as SLBM SW-9 9191, built in 4/51.
