DALE WY Oct 17 1977 — Union Pacific DDA40X 6920 has just crossed the Dale Creek Fill on its westbound journey to Laramie and offers this angle as it passes below. EMD built the unit (b/n 3546) in November 1969 and retired it in December 1984. Utahrails.net reports, "UP 6906, 6910, 6918, 6920, 6929, 6931, 6932, 6935 (8 units) were traded to EMD in May 1986; scrapped by St. Louis Auto Shredding. (Dakota Southern Railway purchased one of the trucks from UP 6906 from St. Louis Auto Shredding, for its own DDA40X, ex UP 6925)." Note the railfan at lower left waving to the crew. My photo.
