New Haven To Trenton, Just Take A Seat. On November 29, 2009, NJ Transit ALP-46 NJT 4613 led a 10-car train of MLVs on train 3133, one of the joint MTA Metro-North Railroad/NJT "Meadowlands Football Game Thru Service" trains. These trains were deadheaded up to New Haven, CT by Metro-North crews, who would then operate in service to New York Penn Station. From there, a New Jersey Transit crew would board the train for the rest of the trip to Trenton, NJ, including a stop at Secaucus Junction to allow the passengers to transfer to a Meadowlands train. In this first year of service, three trains of MLVs were operated in each direction. A number of factors, including their fixed times to run only for 1:00 PM games thus not allowing season ticket holders to give up their highly coveted parking passes, ultimately led to a reduction in service of a single train of single level coaches, and the cancellation of the service within a few years. The train is seen stopping in Larchmont, New York on the New Haven Line.
