The town of Warren shows off its heritage of the Stagecoach Trail on its water tower. The Trail is a historic route through northwest Illinois that connected Lena with Galena. The trail was a part of the larger Galena–Chicago trail that crossed almost the entire state. Warren is a town along that route that was founded in 1843. Nowadays, the CN Dubuque/Freeport Subs parallel a lot of the trail. Here, we have a Levis, PQ, bound ethanol train, making good time as they work towards Chicago. The train is bound for eastern Canada from Tara, IA.
