My great, great uncle Robert F. McKee, Sr., was a design engineer at Baldwin and he would give my father different Baldwin Locomotive Works builder's cards when my father would visit him in Collingswood, New Jersey. This beautiful 4-8-4 Northern, number 4521, was built for the St. Louis - San Francisco Railway (Frisco). According to the specifications listed on the back of the builder's card, this engine and tender had a total weight of 754,700 lbs., and it had a tractive force of 71,200 lbs. This Baldwin Locomotive Works builders photo card is from the John R. Doughty collection.
