CN C704 rolls south through Lucedale, MS on CN’s Beaumont Subdivision. The 135-car coal train is on the last leg of its journey from the Powder River Basin as they approach Evanston, where the train will be handed over to the Mississippi Export to be unloaded at the Victor J Daniel Power Plant in Helena, MS.
The train is led by BNSF 6022, one of ten “25th Anniversary” units BNSF released in 2020 featuring eight stickers along the sides commemorating BNSF’s predecessor railroads. In the second position is BNSF 9625, an SD70MAC wearing the Burlington Northern executive scheme.
A recent spike in a personal interest of the skill and work it takes to create and ultimately nail a shot in the dark using flash technology, leads to this album.
