Remarks & Notes |
THACKERVILLE OK October 1973 — Fellow railfan Ken Fitzgerald (at far left) has taken his shot and watches as Santa Fe GP38 3507 rolls south on its way to the Red River bridge with a Houston-bound grain train. Note U28CG 7900 and RSD15 9807 trailing. EMD built the 3507 (s/n 36543) in June 1970 and delivered it in Bookends livery with blue body and yellow ends. It was painted blue body with yellow warbonnet after Aug 26 1972. In June 1985 it was rebuilt as a GP38u and renumbered 2307. After transfer to BNSF it was patched BNSF on the cab sides and renumbered 2197 on Feb 22 2000. My photo. |
