PURCELL OK (October) 1975 — ATSF GP39-2 3600, GP20 3106 and 3119 lead a southbound mixed freight under the U.S. 77 bridge. EMD built the 3600 (s/n 74602) in August 1974 and delivered it in blue body with yellow warbonnet. Between July 31 1985 and July 24 1986 it was painted in Southern Pacific Santa Fe merger livery red body, black roof and yellow warbonnet and renumbered to SPSF 3100. Upon the failure of the merger and before Oct 1 1990 t was returned to blue body with yellow warbonnet and was renumbered back to ATSF 3600. It was retired in December 1992 and returned to the lessor. In June 1993 it was acquired by Willamette & Pacific Railroad (in Oregon), renumbered PNWR 2301, repainted in orange body with two black horizontal stripes, the frame rail in black and named Sheridan on the cab sides.
