GSMR GP38-3 2668 and GP38-2 2335, built for the L&N and Frisco, respectively, ease the morning train to a stop at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, where passengers will have a short layover to check out the "Land of the Noonday Sun" before returning to Bryson City. Appropriately named, Nantahala only experiences sunlight for a few hours during much of the year because of is location between the mountains.
