Remarks & Notes
NORMAN OK (May) 1982 — Santa Fe GP40X 3809, GP50 3817 and GP50 3824 lead train 185 on approach to the Highway 9 overpass. EMD built the unit (s/n 776054-8) in May 1978 and delivered it in blue body with yellow warbonnet. As part of the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe merger it was renumbered BNSF 3039 on March 12 1998 still in yellow warbonnet. Submissions on rrpicturearchives indicate it was repainted into BNSF swoosh livery at the La Mirada (CA) Yard in May 2019. It is now designated a GP25XE and has a white air conditioner on the cab roof. My photo.
