Last Minute Save? One of the oldest locomotives on the Luzerne and Susquehanna Railway roster, LS 600 (née-BM 1127, SW1, 8/1953) was sitting in the Pittston, Pennsylvania yard on May 10, 2019. It would be stored out of service by new owner RJ Corman not long after, and was planned to be scrapped on Monday, January 22, 2024 according to the locomotive's present owner, Progress Rail until a last minute coalition of an impromptu "Save The 1127" group, including The Danbury Railway Museum and the Boston & Maine Railroad Historical Society and so far has raised a significant amount of money in a short period of time.
