Remarks & Notes |
CLOVIS NM Sept 25 1988 — Noon light rules as SD40-2 5050 leads a set of engines at the east end of Clovis. The lashup has cut off their train and is heading to the engine facility. EMD built the 5050 (s/n 776031-23) in November 1977 and delivered it in blue body with yellow warbonnet liveryMy photo. In July 1988 the San Bernardino CA shops rebuilt it as an SD40-2u. In April 1994 Norton Knudsen performed maintenance on the unit and it gained MKM marks below the road numbers on sides. It was transferred to Burlington Northern Santa Fe on September 1995. In March 2000 it was renumbered /BNSF 6709 and painted in the H1 livery with BNSF on the long hood. My photo. |
