On January 23, 2024, Amtrak Keystone train 600 suffered a mechanical failure in New Jersey on its way to New York. Amtrak KN720 was dispatched to rescue the train with GP15D locomotives 574 and 570. The pair pulled the stricken train up to Newark Penn Station, where ACS-64 no. 662 was waiting to take over for the remainder of the trip to New York Penn.
Shortly after arriving, KN720 cut off 600 on Track 1. The train was running with its Metroliner cab car facing east; the bumble bee stripes being very noticeable amongst the rest of the silver equipment.
