A colorful group of Union Pacific SD70ACe locomotives was found in the railroad's Dolores Yard on this October day: UP 1996 (their Southern Pacific Heritage unit, and the former UP 8523), UP 1988 (the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Heritage diesel, ex-UP 8396) and UP 4141 (the locomotive painted to honor former president George H.W. Bush, ex-UP 8423). I still find it odd that they chose to honor one of the then 43 presidents, and then retired a perfectly good locomotive when he died. (Carson, California – October 24, 2008)
