Snow flurries fill the air as Union Pacific SD70ACe 8762 breaks the winter night silence as it rolls through the CP 85 interlocking in Erie, Pennsylvania. This is CSX train S955, a special move of two DODX nuclear cask cars and an escort caboose. These cars originated at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in New Hampshire, and are bound for Rose Lake, Illinois where the train will be handed off to the UP to continue west.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
