Carolina Coastal's newest power was revealed back in October with a lot of fanfare. Regional Rail announced that they'd be buying several ex Union Pacific GP15-1s for a few of their properties. These units would be getting "heritage" paint jobs for the respective fallen flags that used to run over the trackage that they now own. For CLNA, it was decided that the original Norfolk Southern's red, black and yellow scheme would be used. After a lot of anticipation from me and many other local railfans, GP15-1 #1501 was finally delivered to CLNA in early December. After a couple weeks of being prepped, it was finally put out into service. Me and my buddy Brett were the first people to get photos of the unit in service, which is pretty neat. I'm fairly convinced that it's the best looking locomotive I've ever seen in my life. Here it is seen heading across the CSX diamond in Greenville.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
