Coming Around In Cambridge. On the snowy morning of March 5, 2018, Batten Kill Railroad Alco RS-3 4116 passes the Cambridge Station as it approaches West Main Street and heads towards the interchange in Eagle Bridge, New York. This engine was built for the Delaware & Hudson in 1952 and wears a Greenwich and Johnsonville tribute scheme representing the line's original operator. The former D&H Railroad Station houses a retail outlet of the Argyle Brewing Company, a local brewery operating under a New York Farm Brewery license that uses many of its ingredients from New York State farmers.
New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
