Remarks & Notes
A&O At Night. The Appalachian and Ohio Railroad operates 158 miles of rail lines between Grafton and Cowen, West Virginia that were once the Cowen and Pickens Subdivisions of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. After being operated by B&O, the territory passed to CSX, Watco, and today's owner P&L Transportation, formerly Four Rivers Transportation. Although known mostly for transporting coal, other customers ship or receive chemicals, wood, and paper. AO GP38-2 3805 sits in Buckhannon, West Virginia on the night of May 3, 2019 awaiting the next call to service.
