| This winter, the amount of snow on the Bernina Pass is far above average. The Rhaetian Railway line is the highest Alpine crossing that does not run through a tunnel. Here at Ospizio Bernina, the trains reach an altitude of 2253 meters above sea level. Train 1656 from Tirano to St. Moritz, with the "Allegra" ABe 8/12 # 3513 arrives at Ospizio Bernina. Two heated points can be seen in the foreground. Track 2 was only cleared a little later that day by the snow blower from Poschiavo for the crossing of regional train 1660 with PE 952 BERNINA EXPRESS Chur-Tirano.
