Acela 2 On The Hell Gate Line. Amtrak Alstom Acela 2 Train Set 8 (AMTK 2118 leading) passes SRM Concrete (formerly Jenna Concrete) and the Bronx River Projects as Train 844 on Amtrak's Hell Gate Line as it ducks under the Cross Bronx Expressway (Interstate 95) in the Bronx, New York on the cloudy morning of Monday, April 1, 2024. The train was making a deadhead move from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Boston, Massachusetts, where it will be a platform for mechanical training. Though most of the railroad infrastructure in this scene is original to the New York Connecting Railroad, subtle changes portend the future construction of additional capacity for the MTA's Penn Station Access service.
