Railfan Station.
CSX AC44CW no.s 3162 and 159 are seen leading train M403 past the former station in Ridgefield Park, NJ. The station first opened in 1872, and the current structure was built in 1927 and served trains on the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railroad and the West Shore Railroad, a division of the New York Central. Passenger service on the West Shore ended in 1959, and on the NYS&W in 1966. Nowadays the station building houses a lawyer's office and the one remaining platform is quite popular with local railfans of all ages, as CSX and NYS&W operate freight trains through here on a daily basis.
The train seen here was actually the previous day's run, which had been tied down overnight in Teaneck. Prior to proceeding down to North Bergen, the train made a number of back and forth moves through Bogota and Ridgefield Park, allowing numerous shots from a variety of angles!
