| With millions of miles down in a previous life CP 2816 "The Empress" ran on tours up until '08 when it was pulled from service. After being put in storage for years the Canadian Pacific Kansas City merger last year was finally a celebration worthy of taking it out. The tour to Mexico city kicks off in just over 2 weeks and it'll sure be a head turner seeing the almost century old unit get the attention it deserves.
Here's it's final test run in preparation. After waiting at Wildrose for a work block to clear 2816 gets underway returning to CP headquarters. |
