The 44 Intercity tilting trains ICN RABDe 500 # 001 to # 044 of the SBB were built in two series between 1999 and 2005. In February 2020, it was decided that the trains would be overhauled at the Yverdon-les-Bains plant for a further 20 years of operation. The first train, RABDe 500 # 004, has been on test runs for some time as a prototype of the refit. Here it runs through the Laufental between Aesch and Duggingen on the test run 97146 from Basel via Delémont ot Biel. The Angenstein castle in Aesch dates from the 13th century. The train just passed the 65 meter long Angenstein tunnel below.
