Bookend Heritage Meet. The oldest and newest heritage wrapped MTA Metro-North Railroad units met south of the Riverdale Station in the Bronx, New York on the morning of Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Train 809 with P32AC-DM MNCW 211 (New York Central-40th Ann) is heading towards Poughkeepsie, New York while Train 830 with P32AC-DM MNCW 208 (MNR "Beachball"-40th Ann) was heading to Grand Central Terminal. Both were given special wraps for the railroad's 40th Anniversary. New York Central (until 1968) and Metro-North (1983-Present) represent the substantial majority of the line's operation, with PC and Conrail only spanning a little over 15 years in between.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
