The Old Clifton Shop. Metropolitan Transportation Authority - MTA Staten Island Railway's Clifton Shop maintained its fleet for decades before being replaced by a larger facility in late 2022. During a tour on April 17, 2010, BL20Gs BMEX 777 and 779 sit inside next to replacement wheel sets. The small fleet of 4 Brookville Equipment Corporation BL20Gs are used for non-revenue purposes and are the first diesels that were built new for the MTA Staten Island Railway. These locomotives are 2 of 4 for the SIR that were included with the order for 12 for Metro-North and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (for a total of 16 BL20G/GHs) from Brookville.
