Blue And Gold. New England Central Railroad's (NECR) daily run between Willimantic, CT and Palmer, MA, Train 608, was passing through a nice rural scene in Monson, Massachusetts when it crossed Washington Street. In the once standard paint, veteran EMD GP38s NECR 3857 (née-GMO 730, GP38AC, EMD, 4/1971) and NECR 3850 (GMO 712, EMD, 8/1969) are pictured here on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. At the time this photo was recorded, there were four units still painted in the NECR’s gold and blue as Genesee & Wyoming’s orange and black was taking hold, now it is down to two presently on the NECR property.
